Timber was harvested on the north side of Glen Creek ~ 25 years ago.  Mainly consisting of young white pine, birch and maple trees, the past cutting has created excellent ruffed grouse and other wildlife habitat.  South of Glen Creek, the trees are more mature and heavier in cover.

Aside from the common recreational uses; big and small game hunting, ATV’ing, wildlife viewing.  This property has gentle terrain, not often associated with the Adirondacks, well-drained loamy soils, small portions considered Prime Farmland soils.  It is these attributes that would lend this property to being an ideal location for a small agro-forestry hobby farm.

Popular among visitors to the Adirondacks is the idea of glamping (glamour camping) or short-term rental cabins situated in the wilderness.  The Glen Creek Get-A-Way, with its well-drained soils,  Glen Creek frontage, views of Crane Mountain and its location to State Forest Preserve, Gore Mountain/North Creek and all the Adirondacks have to offer is an ideal property for your Adirondack destination business. 

Access into the property, south of Glen Creek is by a deeded/surveyed right of way from South Johnsburg Road through the Reynolds Cemetery to an open area that the current owners use as a base camp.  Access from Wm. J. Baker Road is by an improved woods-road with culverts.  This road served the past timber operation and is substantial enough for log trucks.  There exists a second right of way from South Johnsburg Road through parcel 180.-1-11.  This right of way exists only in the deed and survey but is not improved.
 
Located ~ 13 miles from Exit 23 from I-87, the Glen Creek-Get-Away is under an hour from Saratoga Springs, 3.5 hours from NYC, under 3 hours from Montreal, Quebec.  As well, the property is under 20 minutes to North Creek where necessities and dining can be had.  In the opposite direction, about a 20-minute drive to Warrensburg, more amenities are available and a 35 minute ride to Queensbury/Glens Falls, all the popular box stores are located, as ell as dining, entertainment and recreation.
